While at American University of Sharjah (AUS), students constantly come across various opportunities beyond the classroom. Whether they choose to seize these opportunities and make them count towards their future, or whether they choose to let them go, is up to the students. Sheraa is one of these unique opportunities that can pave a way for students’ futures, and it is literally within reach of AUS students. Located in the library building, Sheraa, the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center, has recently expanded its space and operations on the campus of American University of Sharjah. The initiative is designed to transform and develop people's ideas into businesses and help Sharjah and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) become a leading hub of international entrepreneurship.

The preeminent global forum for young leaders aged 18-30 years old, One Young World aims to bring together the best and the brightest young leaders and entrepreneurs from around the world to make lasting connections and develop solutions to some of the world's most pressing issues. Now, AUS students who were fortunate enough to participate in the program are working to bring a taste of it to campus.

AUS to participate in 2013 Shell Eco-Marathon Project

The American University of Sharjah (AUS) will participate in Shell Eco-Marathon Asia for the very first time in July 2013. The AUS team will compete in diesel category and take part in Shell Eco-Marathon Asia. The event will take place at the Sepang Ping International Circuit in Kuala Lumpur from July 4-7, 2013. The aim is to go the longest distance on just 1 liter of diesel.

Cultures Unite at AUS’s Annual Global Day

The festivities were held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and President of AUS, and were inaugurated by Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Corporation.

Marcel Khalife Inspires Attendees at an AUS Talk

“Only music in this world understands me,” said Marcel Khalife in front of his audience at the Main Auditorium of American University of Sharjah (AUS) on Tuesday, March 12.

“Khalife came to speak about poetry and music,” said Abu Dhabi’s Emirates Writers Union president Mohammed Al Marzoui in an interview.

He was invited to the UAE’s Capital by the union and Albayyara Cultural Society to speak about his friendship with the late Mahmoud Darwish as well as his latest CD, The Fall of the Moon, noted Al Marzoui.
