AUS alum treks to Everest Base Camp

We all have dreams, some big and some small. Some of these dreams will remain just that, dreams. But if we work hard to achieve them, these dreams can turn into life-changing experiences. This summer, I fulfilled a big dream of mine. In itself, the dream was simple, to trek to the iconic Everest Base Camp. It took me two weeks and an upward trekking of around 130 kms to reach the base camp.

One of the greatest things that happens at American University of Sharjah is being given the opportunity to make new friends. When you come here are as a freshman, new faculty or a new staff member, you quickly start to meet new people—people you take a class or two with, those living in the same dorm as you, your professors or people you will be working with on a regular basis.

AUS graduate excels in photography

Is it a video or not? Have you ever asked yourself that question when watching a time-lapse?

For some who are not familiar with time-lapse, it is a photographic technique of taking a sequence of frames at set intervals to record changes that take place slowly over time. For example a camera can be set to capture an image of a particular scene every five seconds. These still photos captured every five seconds can then be played, for example at 30 frames per second, which will make appear to be moving faster and hence the idea of lapsing.

AUS alumna turns to crowdfunding to finance her Olympic dreams
