After working hard on their startup ideas for months, 10 entrepreneurial teams recently had the opportunity to showcase their ideas to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates, Ruler of Sharjah and President of AUS, who attended the Inaugural Showcase Day held at American University of Sharjah (AUS). The ceremony that took place on February 15, 2017 was held under the patronage of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority, Shurooq.

Earlier this year, American University of Sharjah signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sheraa, the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center, which aimed to further boost economic development in the Emirate of Sharjah. The center’s goal is to create the next wave of entrepreneurs. And today, Sheraa is launching its new hub at American University of Sharjah (AUS).

Entrepreneurship has become a hot topic in the UAE, with the past few years seeing a rise in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). To keep up with this trend, American University of Sharjah (AUS) and Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center (Sheraa) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to further boost economic development in the emirate of Sharjah. The agreement will help establish a culture of entrepreneurship and support the creation of a framework to enhance Sharjah’s reputation as an entrepreneurial leader in the field of innovation in the region.
